Penang Bridge International Marathon 2011

Salam semua,Penang International Bridge Marathon telah pun melabuhkan tirainya,tahniah pada semua pelari yang telah menamatkan acara dalam semua kategori,sekali lagi juga sejarah tercipta kerana pada tahun ini penyertaan terbanyak telah diterima,seramai 27,000 peserta telah menyertai pertandingan Larian Antarabangsa Jambatan Pulau Pinang dan salah seorang peserta tersebut ialah saya yang mendaftar untuk larian 10KM (Peringkat permulaan,insyallah tahun depan cuba half marathon pulak)

Saya berada disana seawal jam 4pagi,dimana kebanyakan laluan utama telah pun ditutup dan kesesakan yang teruk untuk masuk kawasan parkir di Quenssbay Mall.10KM marathon bermula pada pukul 6pagi,selepas semua perlari dilepaskan,semua memecut terus menuju ke Penang Bridge,saya juga turut serta sehingga ketika laluan masuk Penang Bridge stamina saya mula terasa letih dan berhenti berlari dan berjalan untuk beberapa ketika.Setalah stamina datang semula saya terus berlari semula sehingga la ke water station dan berhenti untuk minum air.Setelah mengharungi marathon sepanjang 10KM saya telah menamatkan perlumbaan didalam masa yang ditetapkan iaitu satu jam setengah.Rasa macam tak percaya pulak dapat menamatkan larian ini dengan cemerlang.

Sebelum pertandingan tersebut,saya juga telah menyiapkan diri dengan latihan ringan seperti jogging dikawasan rumah selepas pulang dari kerja,walaupun setiap petang jogging dan juga melakukan senaman ringan ternyata tidak cukup dan berazam untuk menambah lagi waktu untuk bersenam agar tidak hilang stamina dimasa-masa akan datang.

Apa-apa pun tahniah pada semua runners-runners dan juga organiers yang menjayakan program ini dengan cemerlangnya,kita jumpa lagi tahun depan 18 Nov 2012 untuk edisi yang seterusnya "Penang Bridge Internatinal Marathon".

Malaysia Air Festival 2011

Since GP Fuller's first introduction of flight with the landing in Kuala Lumpur in 1911, Malaysia has come a long way in the aviation industry. This year, MALAYSIA CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF AVIATION. To pave the way for this celebration, the Department of Civil Aviation along with the industry's finest would like to announce MALAYSIA AIR FESTIVAL 2011.

Expected at this first ever show of its kind are a variety of aircraft from local and regional players. Experienced aerobatics pilots including some of the world's best residing in Malaysia are expected to make the event interesting and superbly exciting. To add flavour to the event, 100 classic cars related closely to the aviation industry will be involved together with the aviators in this event.

The event is scheduled to be held from the 26th to 27th of November 2011 which has been officially launched by the Honorable Prime Minister of Malaysia on the 17th of October 2011.

This event will also see new life brought into Subang International Airport as it will be an annual affair starting this year. It will be a great time for the whole family to take part during this event and be amongst the passionate aviators and enthusiasts of exciting sports.

OBJECTIVE
To celebrate 100 years of aviation in Malaysia since 1911, which saw the first recorded flight in Malaya by GP Fuller who landed his Antoinette Monoplane at the Race Course in Ampang Road, Kuala Lumpur.

To Educate the younger generation about how Malaysia has evolved in this industry and bring the public closer to the world of aviation. Flying needs to be seen as a way of life and the way of the future for Malaysia.

MALAYSIA AIR FESTIVAL also intends to remember the aviators of the past and present who have contributed their time and knowledge and made Malaysia a nation to be reckoned with in the world of aviation. A trail of history based on publication archives from the New Straits Times Group as well as private individual accounts of their personal experiences will be showcased at the mini aviation expo in Subang Skypark during MALAYSIA AIR FESTIVAL.
